CPAP users for sleep apnoea will no longer be offered an electrical outlet
With the increasing number of sleep apnea diagnoses and CPAP treatment for sleep apnea, the number of electricity slots requested for sleep apnea has increased year on year in Suviseuro. Efforts have been made to increase the number of electric slots, but it has not been possible to offer them to all CPAP users. This has resulted in inequality for Summer Club guests.
For CPAP devices, camping battery systems are available that allow the device to be used without mains power for 1-2 nights, depending on the size of the battery. The battery weighs less than 1.5 kg. In addition to the battery, a converter is required for each CPAP device to supply the CPAP device with the power it needs. The cost of such a system is around €300. Summer clubs offer the possibility to charge the batteries of CPAPs free of charge at the rest area for elderly people. Car batteries and various leisure batteries have also been successfully used to power CPAPs using a converter, but these systems effectively need a solar panel to charge the battery during the day. These batteries cannot be recharged at a rest home for the elderly. For more information on the mobile use of your CPAP device, please contact the importer of your device.
For some people who need CPAP treatment for sleep apnoea, a sleep apnoea mask, available from pharmacies or dentists, may be enough for a short period. Any changes in treatment should always be made in consultation with the service providing the treatment.
The 2025 Summer Clubs in Lope will be open for applications next spring, when the application will be announced in the Daily News.
