Lodging

Summer service guests who need accommodations may turn to the Lodging Office for various kinds of lodging options the office collects and offers. There guests may rent group lodging, travel trailers or caravans, and motorhomes. Private homes can be rented through the city’s own website, VisitPori.

Group and family lodging in school classrooms, travel trailer, caravan, and motorhome rental

Local schools are offering classrooms for lodging. Guests may choose from common lodging in the school gymnasiums, or entire classrooms for a large family, for example. These rentals are provided by the Summer Service Lodging Office (Majoituskauppa).

The same Lodging Office provides travel trailer and motorhome rental services. Private individuals have parked their camping vehicles on the service site for service guests to rent. These caravans or travel trailers and motorhomes are ready parked in a designated part of the service site. The owner and renter mutually agree on the terms of rental, and the owner may leave the keys at the Key Provider Point (Avainten välityspiste), The renter pays the key service provider a 15 € handling fee.

Booking accommodations

Guests planning to attend the summer services may book their accommodations through Internet, which is open from March 3, to June 30, 2017.

Lodging in private homes

Private individuals who have offered to rent rooms, apartments, homes, entire houses, and cabins may be found on the VisitPori website (in Finnish).

Visitor boat sites

The summer service site is located on the islets on the Kokemäenjoen river. Service guests may arrive to the service site by boat. A daily fee of 20 €/day includes a place to dock, water and septic service, garbage collection, toilets, and electric mains service. A stop-by visit by boat is free of charge. A boat docking site can be reserved from the City of Pori’s own service point called Porina.

Lodging Office

The Lodging Office on the summer site will answer all lodging related questions. Service guests lodging on the service site in their own tents or campers may pay their site rental fee at the Lodging Office or some other places on the service site.

School lodging service in local schools open their doors from 8 to 10 pm. Guests lodging in the schools must leave the building by 10 am. The schools are closed during the day. Night watchmen will guard the school and assure security from 10 pm to 7 am. Please note that  classroom lodging no longer includes a free mattress, since inflatable air mattresses may be purchased from the Lodging Shop.

When renting a camper, travel trailer, caravan, or motorhome, the key pickup service is provided only at the beginning of the rental period. The renter pays the handling fee (15 €) when picking up the keys from Key Provider Point (Avainten välityspiste), or when it is closed, from the lodging office. The final return of keys is always as mutually agreed between the owner and the renter.
