Is there any entry fee for the Summer Services?
Everyone is welcome to the Summer Services to look around and listen and to meet friends. The wish of the arrangement committee is that as many as possible would stop to listen to the sermon of the living Word of God in which the central meaning is the proclamation of the forgiveness of sins for everyone who wants to hear and believe it.
There is no participation fee at the Summer Services. Car parks are also free. However, a fee is charged for lodging at the service site.
Can the summer services be heard over the Internet?
Sure, the Summer Services can be heard on the summer service's own website. Services can be heard over several local radio stations. Links for the service radio stations will be posted on the service radio website before the services start.
How can one come to the summer services?
There will be bus connections to the service site from the Kemi-Keminmaa and Haaparanta-Tornio areas. The routes will have connections to the railway, airport and common lodging places. The bus routes and schedules will be posted on this website later.
How obligatory are the route recommendations coming to the service area?
The organizers have planned the traffic coming to the summer service area to be as safe and smooth as possible. Following the recommended routes will prevent unnecessary congestion and long lines of traffic.The planned routes avoid intersections that easily get congested.
By following the recommended routes you will get to to the services faster and you will hinder the people less who live in the area.
How many vehicles can be parked at the camper site?
Rescue officials have given permission for a maximum of two vehicles and a camper to be parked at the same camper site. Please park the vehicles so they can be moved straight off the site in case of emergency. Please park any additional vehicles in the area’s designated car park (AP).
Why can’t cars or tents be put in the 4 meter wide fire lane in the front and back of the camper site?
Rescue officials require that the fire lanes in the front and back of the camper sites must remain completely clear at all times. Do not put cars, campers, motorhomes or tents in the fire lane. No part of any vehicle or tent can be in the fire lane. This ensures rescue vehicles unhindered passage in case of emergency. If service guests have vehicles or accommodation equipment in the fire lane they will be requested to remove them.
How can lodging be reserved for the summer services?
The lodging committee is prepared to offer many kinds of lodging for the Summer Service time. There is common lodging which is arranged at schools. There is lodging at private homes, so that you can, for example, rent a cottage or a private residence from near the Summer Service area. All the necessary contact information and online shop for lodging can be found on this website.
How should we prepare for the summer services?
The Summer Service area has the basic services: service cafeteria, store, bank and postal services, a health center, pharmacy and showers. You should prepare for different kinds of weather with different clothing, rubber boots, rain gear and warm clothes are necessary. It also pays to take shoes that are suitable for walking in different types of terrain, such as grass, forest paths, and sandy roads.
I have hurt my foot and moving around is painful. Can I get a place in the invalid area?
The invalid area is meant for the service guests who have an invalid parking permit from police authorities. It is not possible to use the invalid parking due to a temporary ailment. Hopefully you can get a site close to the services provided around the service area. The sermons can be heard through loudspeakers and the area radio throughout the entire service area.
How is driving around restricted?
Please avoid unnecessary driving around at the service site. Walking is the only permissible way to move around at the service site. Please leave gravel roads free for incoming traffic and for maintenance vehicles. The service site is closed to vehicle traffic except for incoming filling traffic for the duration of the night from 1:00 am to 6:00 am. The traffic directors will direct cars arriving at night to the Park areas at the service site.
Where can I get more info on food served at the summer services that is suitable for me?
We strive to serve the service guests with a variety of foods. Different diets are taken into consideration and we hope that there is good food for everyone. The service cafeteria website has a more specific list of the foods that are sold.
What must a person with a special diet take into consideration?
You can find all the most common special diet foods in the cafeteria area (lactose-free, milk-free, gluten-free foods). All the product info of all the foods served are on the Summer Service website and at the info booth. The cafeteria workers will also be happy to answer any questions you have about the food. We recommend people with multiple allergies to study the product ingredients beforehand and bring food if necessary.
What types of bank cards do you accept?
At the Summer Services, the best way to pay is with bank cards (Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron , Diners Club, and American Express). You can pay with a bank card at all stores and cash registers. The largest bill that the cashiers can accept is a 50 euro bill. Please break larger bills at the service site bank.
Is there any waste recycling?
All the bottles, cafeteria bio waste and energy waste are sorted at the summer service site. Please return bottles to return point. Waste from the lodging areas is collected as energy waste and will be delivered to the power station to be burned. Wood and metal waste used in the construction and dimantling of the service site will also be sorted.
How can I pay the Service site/lodging fee?
You can pay the service site/lodging fee in advance online with your own bank passwords on the Summer Service website. Please print the receipt and posted it in a visible place in your camper or tent.
Can pets be brought to the summer service area?
Pets are not allowed at the service site to guarantee environmental hygiene and general safety.
Why can’t I reserve places for my friends and relatives?
The service guests come into the area from different directions at the same time. We will attempt to direct traffic to avoid congestion. Filling in empty spaces caused by reserving places for others causes congestion and can cause hazardous situations. Please come to the service site together from the same direction if you want to have adjoining sites.
Why can’t we set up tent groups?
Groups of several tent groups are an accident risk, especially if they are connected under the same tarp.
Can I charge my mobile phone on the site?
You can charge your mobile phone for a small fee at the mobile phone charging place on the service site located near the kiosk. You must have your own charger.
Can we wish for songs during breaks?
Plans for the songs and hymns were completed in January. There are some radio program where you can request songs.
Why can't we hear the Summer Service radio everywhere?
The power used in temporary radio broadcasts is lower than in permanent radio broadcasts. That is why the Summer Service radio can’t be heard heard as well as YLE radio stations. However, you can listen to the Summer Service radio on the internet everywhere, and the program will be posted on the Summer Service website after the services.
What is the earliest that a camper can be brought to summer service site in order to avoid congestion? Can it be brought, for example, on Tuesday, June 28th?
The service site will open at 9a.m. on Wednesday and after that it is possible to come there.The most congested times for filling traffic are Thursday and Friday evenings.
Does the lodging fee for the camper site cover the time of the services?
The lodging fee covers the whole time of the services. The prices can be found on the lodging price.
How long can campers, motorhomes and tents be at the Summer Service site?
Campers, motorhomes and tents can be at the service site until July 7th. Those who are participating in clearing the area can be there longer.
Are there electric hookups? Are they included in the camper site fee?
There are no electric hookups for campers or motorhomes. There is only electricity for medical equipment and it has to be requested in advance from medical personel.
Can you use your own generator and grill in the service area?
Open fires, kerosene stoves, grills, stoves and generators are not allowed for safety reasons.
Are there enough invalid sites and do you have to reserve it in advance?
There is an adequate amount of invalid sites and you do not have to reserve them in advance. You must have an invalid parking permit from police authorities to lodge there.
