SRK Summer Services

Summer Services is the annual four-day summer event of  Conservative Laestadians attended by around 70, 000 service guests. The services are open to all and their purpose is to gather people to the hearing of God’s word. The service schedule consists of sermons, hymns and songs of Zion. The sermons are interpreted into eight languages, plus sign language.

In the beginning, services were held in churches and other public places. A service tent was used for the first time in Kajaani, in 1938. The tent used today is the fourth in succession, erected for the first time at the 2009 Oripää Summer Services. The radio broadcasts were initiated in 1939 at the Summer Services in Kemi.  For more information about Summer Services go to the SRK website www.srk.fi.
